Fiona Woolf CBE

Alderman Fiona Woolf CBE was the Lord Mayor of London for the year 2013/14 as the 686th Lord Mayor, and only the second woman to hold the role since 1189. Her Lord Mayor’s Show, “The Energy of Life”, on 9th November 2013 took place after an eye-catching River Progress on Gloriana with a flotilla of cutters rowed by Liverymen and others. It was a great success (despite the rain) with a record number of floats. Over 7,000 people took part and half a million people lined the route. The fireworks afterwards on the River were spectacular.

Her theme for the year was “The Energy to Transform Lives” and her personal programme was set out in her “686 Plan”. It covered the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the Power of Diversity, the Lord Mayor’s Charity Leadership Programme ( ) and Tomorrow’s City.  She had an extensive programme of foreign visits covering 26 countries over some 90 days to promote the UK - based financial, business and professional services sector.
