Lord Mayor of London
Fiona Woolf CBE
Alderman Fiona Woolf CBE is the Lord Mayor of London for the year 2013/14 as the 686th Lord Mayor, and only the second woman to hold the role since 1189. Her Lord Mayor’s Show, “The Energy of Life”, on 9th November 2013 took place after an eye-catching River Progress on Gloriana with a flotilla of cutters rowed by Liverymen and others. It was a great success (despite the rain) with a record number of floats. Over 7,000 people took part and half a million people lined the route. The fireworks afterwards on the River were spectacular.
Her theme for the year is “The Energy to Transform Lives” and her personal programme is set out in her “686 Plan” (see Lord Mayor of London page). It covers the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the Power of Diversity (www.thelordmayorsappeal.org), the Lord Mayor’s Charity Leadership Programme (www.cass.city.ac.uk/LMCLP ) and Tomorrow’s City (www.tomorrowscompany.com/city).
She has an extensive programme of foreign visits covering 25 countries over some 90 days to promote the UK - based financial, business and professional services sector. Full details are available on www.corporationoflondon.gov.uk. under About the City -The Lord Mayor.
She would welcome participation in all these programmes.
